No need to replace the entire turbo as suggested by other garages and/or dealerships. We offer a much more effective and less expensive alternative in terms of costs. The real problem lies in the material used by the manufacturer. It is indeed a ferrous steel which tends to corrode over time, the humid climate present in North America amplifies the corrosion problem.

At VAG Services we offer you a brand new stainless steel part with new tolerances for greater efficiency than the original one. This solution has been offered to our customers since 2019. We have done more than 600 vehicles with it since its release, no return following this repair. ​

N.B: In 90% of the vehicles we receive, it is mandatory to replace the exhaust collar, because the screws that hold it are often far too corroded to be able to remove them, so it is necessary to cut the exhaust collar and replace it with a new one.

Additional fees of ($50-$80 + taxes) will be billed as needed.

Q: What are the symptoms of a faulty wastegate?

A: Epc light on

    Loss of power (difficult overtaking on freeways)

    Check engine may also be on, but not necessarily

    Slight increase in fuel consumption

    Rattling noise at standstill (sound of a vibrating roof) not compulsory

Q: Is it necessary to replace the entire turbo?

A: Absolutely not, in fact there's no need at all, as the rest of the turbo is working properly. All you need to do is replace the part that's been damaged by corrosion (the wastegate).

Q: My mechanic suggests I simply grease the wastegate, does that work?

A: Yes, but this is a temporary solution, not a permanent one. Once the grease has dried, the problem will come back again and again. Our solution is permanent.

Q: Is it possible to drive to your garage, or does it have to be towed?

A: Yes, it's possible to drive the vehicle to our garage without any problem, but it's very important not to be heavy-footed. You can drive at 100 km/h without any problem if you accelerate gradually, not abruptly.

Example: One of our customers drove over 1000 km from New Brunswick following our recommendations. 

Q: Do you have courtesy vehicles?

A: Yes, we have a courtesy vehicle for customers over 25 years of age only. A valid driver's license and credit card are required to rent the vehicle. A daily fee of $20.00 +taxes applies.

Q: How long does it take?

A: On average it takes 4 to 6 hours for Golf/Audi A3 2015-2019.

    In most cases, repairs are done the same day. If the vehicle arrives at the garage before 10 a.m., it is often ready by mid-afternoon.

    Some vehicles take longer than others and require a 24-hour turnaround.

Q: Is it possible to wait for the vehicle on site? 

A: Yes, it is possible to wait in the garage office (maximum of 3 customers at a time).

Q: Do you have Wifi to work on site?

A: Yes, we have wifi for people who want to work on their computers, tablets, phones, etc.
